We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Project Manager with a strong background in Healthcare Construction to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent position where you will play a critical role in managing and executing commercial projects within the healthcare sector. This role is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to leverage their expertise in hospital and healthcare construction to make a significant impact in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Responsibilities:
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will be responsible for:
1. Assisting the Project Manager in planning, directing, coordinating, and budgeting activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems in the healthcare sector.
2. Participating in the conceptual development of a construction project and overseeing its organization, scheduling, and implementation.
3. Working closely with architects, engineers, and other construction and building specialists to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
4. Coordinating and supervising the construction process from the conceptual development stage through final construction, ensuring that the project gets done on time and within budget.
5. Inspecting and reviewing projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
6. Ensuring all necessary permits and licenses are in place before and during construction.
7. Preparing and submitting budget estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking reports.
8. Interpreting and explaining contracts and technical information to other professionals.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years' experience in project management, specifically within the healthcare construction industry.
2. A proven track record of managing and executing commercial projects, particularly in the healthcare sector.
3. Extensive knowledge of building processes, construction materials, procurement, and project management.
4. Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and standards, as well as building and safety codes.
5. Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
6. Ability to work effectively under pressure, solve problems, and make decisions.
7. Proficiency in project management software tools.
8. A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
