Position Overview:
We are seeking a certified Special Education Teacher in New York to provide one-on-one private tutoring for students in the Grahamsville, NY area. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about personalized instruction and making a meaningful impact on students with diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities:
• Provide individualized, one-on-one tutoring tailored to each student's learning style and academic needs.
• Develop and implement customized lesson plans aligned with students' IEPs (if applicable) and academic goals.
• Utilize differentiated instructional strategies to support students with diverse learning needs.
• Monitor student progress and adapt instructional approaches accordingly.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
• Maintain accurate session notes and reports.
Requirements:
• Must hold a valid New York State Special Education Teaching Credential (Certification in Special Education K-12 preferred).
• Experience working with students with learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, or other special needs.
• Strong ability to modify curriculum and adapt instruction to meet individual student needs.
• Availability during school hours (15-20 hours per week).
• Must live within the proximity of Grahamsville, NY and be able to travel to students' homes or designated locations for tutoring sessions.
• Passion for helping students reach their full potential through personalized instruction.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in private tutoring, home instruction, or special education classrooms .
• Knowledge of IEP development and implementation.
• Familiarity with assistive technology and multi-sensory teaching approaches.
