The VP, Strategic Sourcing (Subcontracting) is accountable for mitigating supply risk, maximizing financial improvement, and driving innovation with the supply base via the spend managed in Corporate Services and Energy & Resources. The VP, Strategic Sourcing is accountable for ‘‘solving real business problems” with stakeholders.

What You'll Do

  • Lends key expertise in the development and advancement of the facilities management sourcing team, to drive increased oversight, expand cost out opportunities, and ensure optimal and leveraged capabilities across the Segment.
  • Through their expertise and leadership, collaborates with Corporate Services leadership to develop medium and long-term strategies and will be the reference in terms of process development, tools, and solutions. Develops and executes strategies through the sourcing process and procurement with special emphasis on subcontracting relationships.
  • Responsible for managing and optimizing relationships between the company, clients and its subcontractors, building trust, communication, and collaboration to ensure efficient project delivery and mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Accountable for a long-term roadmap with specific actions and milestones as well as clearly articulating this vision and planning effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Build and maintain strong positive relationships with Sodexo’s Global Team, NorAm Supply & Procurement counterparts and Senior Leadership to ensure appropriate coordination and advancement of best practices across the enterprise.

Category Expertise

  • Deep knowledge of facilities management services (e.g., HVAC, janitorial, landscaping, security, maintenance).
  • Understanding of supplier markets and industry trends.
  • Aligning sourcing strategies with desire of Sodexo to self-perform where possible

Contract Management

  • Skilled in negotiating, drafting, and managing complex service contracts.
  • Familiarity with SLAs, KPIs, and performance-based contracting.
  • Reporting out metrics to operations and where needed clients

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with vendors.
  • Experience in supplier evaluation, scorecards, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Cost Optimization

  • Expertise in total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis.
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
  • Balance purchasing income vs. contract savings

Leadership & Communication:

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Works closely with operations, finance, legal, and sustainability teams.
  • Facilitates stakeholder alignment and consensus-building.

Team Leadership

  • Leads and develops sourcing teams.
  • Encourages innovation and continuous improvement.

Negotiation & Influence

  • Strong negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to influence decision-making at senior levels.

Technical & Analytical Skills:

Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Proficient in using analytics tools to assess spend, performance, and risk.
  • Experience with e-sourcing platforms and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Fiori, etc.)

Risk Management

  • Identifies and mitigates risks in the supply chain.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

Sustainability & ESG Awareness

  • Incorporates environmental and social governance (ESG) criteria into sourcing decisions.
  • Promotes green and sustainable facilities practices.
